What should I practice at home between sessions?

Keep it short, positive and frequent. A few good habits go a long way with young puppies:

  • Short sessions — a few minutes at a time beats one long drill
  • Reward calm behavior, not just tricks
  • Introduce new people, places and gentle handling while everything is still new and interesting
  • End on a win, every time
