What happens on my dog's first day of daycare?
Every new dog at Paw Talk starts with a friendly temperament evaluation — as close to a full day as you're comfortable with. Our trainers run evaluations on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting slowly with one of our own personal dogs and letting yours set the pace. Once it's complete, you can book daycare right through the app.
Why does daycare start with an evaluation?
Because the safety and well-being of every furry guest comes first. The evaluation finds your dog's right group from day one — some pups meet just a friend or two on their first visit, others jump right into the whole pack. We let the dogs tell us how fast they want to go.
How are the play groups organized?
Groups are sorted by size and energy, with our team in the group the whole time — not just watching a room, but genuinely with the dogs. Real downtime is built into the middle of the day, so nobody goes home overtired: play in the morning, real rest at midday, refreshed play in the afternoon.
Will I know how the day went?
Yes — you get photo updates while they play, and the Paw Talk app delivers daily report cards, so you'll know how their day went before they're back in your car. It takes the guesswork out of that first drop-off.
What about puppies?
Puppies start the same way — with the evaluation, so we can match them to the right group. And because Paw Talk is owned by a professional dog trainer, daycare comes with a well-being philosophy: dogs come at most 3 days a week, since more group play than that can lead to overstimulation and trouble settling at home. New puppy in the family? Our training programs — including puppy camp and a $150 Puppy Quick Start — pair naturally with daycare.
What should I know about hours and logistics?
